We welcome applications from postdoc candidates with expertise in microbiology, genetics, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, evolutionary biology, protistology, and/or computational biology.

To apply, please send the following to Dr. Levin:

teralevin (at) pitt.edu

- a cover letter that describes your past research experience and motivation for applying to the Levin lab

- a brief (<1 page) description of proposed research for your postdoc

- your most relevant published papers and pre-prints (for multi-author papers, please describe your contribution)

- names and contact information for 3 or more potential references (letters are not needed during the initial stage)

Ph.D. students

Candidates for graduate study should apply through the MCDB track of the Pitt Biology graduate program. This program allows graduate students to rotate through multiple labs in the first year, providing a diversity of research experiences prior to selecting a lab.

For application information and more details, visit the graduate admissions site.

Application deadlines are in early December.

technicians

We will post an opening for a full-time research technician position in Spring 2022.

Candidates must have obtained an undergraduate degree in Biology (or a related discipline). Job ads for open positions will be posted here and on the Pitt job board.

Undergraduates

We are not currently recruiting undergraduates. When positions are available, they will be advertised here.

We typically take on undergraduates with previous experience (in coursework or research) in genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or computational biology. A minimum commitment of 2 credits/12 hours per week, spanning two semesters and a summer, is expected.

High schoolers

Due to university rules surrounding biosafety, we do not accept high school students or other minors into the lab.
